BGC meetings do not necessarily have to be in a close formal location. We also organize them in an open, fun and relaxing environment.

One of the cultural learning activity is to visit a local family to have a relaxed evening with all the family members, share a meal, ask questions and share stories from life.

Visiting places of worship of different religions is another cultural activity that is very much enjoyed by the volunteers. They like to participate in some of the activities in these places of worship, for example, helping to cook food in the soup kitchen that serves free food to thousands of people through out the day irrespective of their socioeconomic and religious background.

Unplanned cultural activities are also fun and full of learning like participating in annual function of a dance school teaching Indian classical dance-Odissi. Or, conversations with the shopkeepers and people in the market.

The sun sets on another India Odyssey. Thank you Bridging Global Cultures and CanSupport - Caring for People with Cancer for an exceptional experience. We will all carry you in our hearts forever.

India is famous for Festival of colours, HOLI in March month and Festival of lights, DIWALI in November month.

Holi is celebrated with myriad of colours by child, young and old with great fervour. In last 24 years, thousands of volunteers have enjoyed this festival and found it to be one of the highlights of their volunteer experience. Putting on exquisite designs of henna is another activity for this occasion.

BGC invites you to come celebrate this festival with the community you are volunteering with.
